Dr.
Jared & Dr. Karina Ottley, DDS |
|
Dr.
Karina was born and raised in San Diego, California. After graduating
from Torrey Pines High School, she moved to Kansas City, Missouri to attend the UMKC (Kangaroos!!!) 6-yr
BA/DDS dental program.
Dr. Jared was born and raised in Milton, Florida. He graduated
from Milton High and then also moved to Kansas City to attend the 6-yr
BA/DDS dental program.
After graduating from dental school in 1999, they joined the Army.
Their first duty station was Ft. Lewis, Washington, where they
completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency
program. After Ft. Lewis, they moved to Vilseck, Germany for a two
year tour. It was two years full of travel and excitement. They both
agree it was an honor to serve their country and truly admire the men
and women that serve and protect the freedom of the United States.
Dr. Jared and Dr. Karina were married in April of 2000 in San
Diego. They
are the proud parents of two boys: Avery, born in November 2002, and
Andrew, born in December 2004.
They are both members of the American
Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, American Orthodontic
Society, Florida Dental Association as well as local dental societies.
They are committed to excellence and have received over 500 hours of
continuing education each in the past four years. Dr. Karina says the
most exciting part of dentistry for her is seeing the change in a
person after she gives them the beautiful, bright, and healthy smile
they always wanted. Dr. Jared says it is helping guests overcome
their fear of dentistry. "When a guest comes to our office shaking,
and leaves with a hug and smile, that's what makes my job so
rewarding" says Dr. Jared. They say "if your smile isn't becoming to
you, then you should be coming to us." |

Dr.
Jonathan Ottley, D.M.D |

Dr. Jonathan was born
in Pensacola, Fl. and raised in Milton. After
graduating from Milton High School, he attended the University of
Florida in Gainesville and received his BS degree in both
Microbiology/Cell Science and Zoology. Dr. Jonathan continued his
education in Gainesville, attending the University of Florida College
of Dentistry.
Since graduating dental school in 2004, he has completed an Advanced
Education in General Dentistry residency in Miami, Fl. After living in
Miami for a year, Dr. Jonathan could not wait to return home to the
Panhandle to be with his family and friends.
Dr. Jonathan is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, American
Dental Association, Florida Dental Association, and local dental
societies. He is committed to providing quality dentistry at a fair
price, and says "the most rewarding part of dentistry is the
relationships I develop with my patients." |

Heidi -
Dental Hygienist |
|
Our dental hygienist, Heidi, was
born in Korat, Thailand and moved to the U.S. shortly thereafter. Having a father in the military has meant Heidi has lived in Nevada,
Germany, New Mexico and finally here in Florida. Heidi has
lived in the local area
since 1988 (longer than the Winn-Dixie and
McDonalds!). She graduated from the Dental Hygiene program at
Pensacola Junior College in May 2000, and obtained her Florida Dental
Hygiene License in August 2000. In May of 2002, Heidi received her
Associate of Arts degree from OWC.
She enjoys scrapbooking,
time with her husband and walks with her dog Coco.
Heidi is committed to making your dental visit a pleasant and
comfortable experience. Heidi's Motto: Remember, floss is not
the enemy! |

Dyanne - Insurance Coordinator |
|
Dyanne Upton was born and raised
in St. Joseph, Michigan, where she met and married her husband, Bill
(he was raised in Pensacola). They have two children; one is a
chocolate lab named Snicker and the other a miniature poodle named BiGi. They moved several times with Bill's job, living in Walla
Walla, Washington, Pocatello, Idaho, and Neenah, Wisconsin. After
three years in Wisconsin (three cold years), they had a mid-life
crisis and decided to leave their jobs, sell their home, put their
furniture in storage, purchase a motor home, and see the USA for a
year. Living in a motor home, they learned to survive in a small
space with 2 adults and 2 dogs and still got along. They visited
friends and relatives all over the United States, as well as
experiencing so many sites and tastes of our wonderful country, like
the giant redwoods in northern California and fresh caught lobsters in
Maine. After the year was over, they chose to live in Gulf Breeze as
they loved the weather here and the water. Their wandering days are
over with and they no longer have the urge for wheels under their
feet. |

Renata
- Clinical Assistant |
|
Renata was born and raised in Poland. She
moved to the U.S. in 1989, where she met her husband Chuck. They
married in Ft Walton Beach in the summer of 1990 and now have two
beautiful children, Nolan and Lauren. Having a husband in the
Air Force meant moving a lot. They have been stationed in Little
Rock, AR; Langley, VA; Ellensburg, WA; Keflavik, Iceland, and now
Eglin AFB. Rentata received her dental assisting training and
certification from the Red Cross dental assisting program at Langley
AFB, Va.
Renata really enjoys being a dental assistant, and in her spare time she
creates flower arrangements. Her hobbies include reading books
and watching soccer. |

Lyndsi
- Front Desk

|
Lyndsi was born
and raised in North Little Rock, AR. After graduating high school and
attending the University of Central Arkansas for two years, Lyndsi
completed a degree in biology in May 2005 from Southern Nazareen
University. Lyndsi moved to Navarre to be with her boyfriend who
is stationed at Hurlburt Field for the next five years. They
enjoy working out, playing volleyball, eating at McGuire's Irish Pub,
and laying out on the beach. Lyndsi has always had an interest
in the health sciences field, which is what brought her to Ottley
Smiles. She looks forward to coming to work everday
because she likes the work she does and is surrounded by the most
kind-hearted people she knows. |

Sara
- Dental Hygienist |
|
Sara was born
and raised in Pensacola, Florida. After graduating from Woodham High
School in 2000, she attended the Dental Hygiene Program at Pensacola
Junior College and received her Florida dental hygiene license in July
of 2005. To acknowledge Sara for her clinical services and skills,
she was presented the Hu-Friedy Golden Scaler Award in May 2005 by her
hygiene instructors. When not at work, Sara enjoys going to the
beach, shopping, and being with family and friends. |

Tiffany - Dental Assistant |

"I'm a Nature of
Navarre. I graduated from Ft. Walton Beach High in 1999. I'm with
the best man in the world, Jerry. He is stationed at Hurlburt AFB.
We have 2 beautiful kids, and one on the way. My family and I enjoy
taking our boat out fishing, and having fun at the beach. I also
have the greatest parents in the world, Charlie and Brenda Smith. I
am forever greatful to them."

Rachel

Rachel was born and raised in
Harlingen, Texas. After graduating from Harlingen High School, she
attended UT Pan American in Edingurg, TX. Shortly after, she was
married to John and moved away to follow him through his active duty journey in the US Air Force. Rachel has three children: 13
year old twin girls Jiovannah and Rachelle, and 6 year old son Trey. They
were relocated to Hurlburt Field from a 4 year tour in Okinawa, Japan
and now live in Navarre.
Rachel is a certified dental assistant. She attended Pima Medical
Institute in Albuquerque, New Mexico and graduated in 1995 with her
National Board Certification. Rachel has been certified since 1995,
and she has her National Board Certification for Radiology. Rachel has
been to many continuing education classes to keep up her skills. She
is a member of the American Dental Society, and was awarded the
Achievement Award from the US Army in Okinawa, Japan. Rachel is now employed with Ottley Smiles Dental Center as our "New
Patient Coordinator". She is eager to meet each and every new patient
that comes through the door. |

Amy
- Dental Assistant |
|
Amy was raised in
Chattanooga, TN. She attended Florida State University for 2 years and
met her husband Justin there. He joined the Army and they were
stationed for 4 years in Fayetteville, NC. During that time Amy
received her dental assisting training at E.W. Woods Career
Training Center. Justin and Amy moved to Navarre in 2006 shortly
before the birth of their wonderful son Jackson. Amy is very excited
about working at such a state of the art practice and can not wait to
meet all the patients! |

Casey
- Dental Hygienist |
|
Casey is a 24 year old
Northwest Florida Native. She graduated Pace High School in 2001. GO
PATRIOTS! She has been in the dental field for
over 8 years and
graduated hygiene school in 2004. She was married 5-5-05 at 5:55 to
her soul mate
Bob. They had a beautiful baby girl on 7-16-07 named Ava. Casey also
has her real estate license and finishing her B.S. in business
management. She is very
excited about working at Ottley Smiles because it is a
state of the art
practice and has a great staff. Most importantly it is only
10 minutes from home! |

Christy
- Dental Assistant |

Christy has been a
native of Pensacola for 32 years. She has been assisting or 6 years.
She enjoys everything about assisting especially
orthodontics. Her hobbies include fishing-which she was able to do on
a professional level in 2007, on the FLW red-fish circuit. In 2008 she
will be competing in various FLW and IFA events. She is living her
dream! Between dentistry and fishing she couldn't ask for anything
better. She says, " above all I get to share it with her boyfriend
Chase, and she is the happiest person in the World." |

Becki
- Financial Coordinator |

Becki was born and
raised in Lubbock, Texas. She has an older brother and two loving
parents. She graduated from Texas Tech University in 2005 with a
bachelors degree in Human Development and Family Sciences and a minor
in Psychology. She met her husband Stephen in college, and after 3
years of dating they married on May 26, 2007, in Austin, TX. They
moved to Florida in 2006 with their two dogs Kaya and Bailey. She is
currently attending hygiene school, anticipated graduation date is May
2010. |

Chris

Chris was born and
raised in Athens, Georgia. She moved to Navarre in 2003 after living
in California for five years. She has three beautiful children and now
that they are in school, she decided to get a part-time job. That is
what brought her to Ottley Smiles Dental Center. She loves the team
and the patients. She states, " this is an AWESOME environment." |

Rae
- Scheduling Coordinator |

Rae was born and raised
in Orlando, FL where she met her husband, Stephen. They married there
in June 2003. She then moved to GA for 1 year, where her husband was
stationed with the USAF. In 2004, they received orders to move to
England. They spent 3 years in Norfolk, England where they enjoyed
traveling around the country visiting castles and other historic
sites. They also traveled to Turku, Finland and Majorca, Spain on
vacation. In 2007 they received orders to return to the states, where
they are currently stationed here in Navarre. While the are very happy
to be back in their home state of Florida, they do miss the European
lifestyle. Rae enjoys going to the beach, 4 wheeling, and hanging out
with friends on the weekends. |
